Louise Terranova is an emerging visual artist working in painting, printmaking and multimedia and living in Melbourne. She is currently working on a body of paintings exploring still life. She is open to exhibiting and other opportunities.
Her use of colour and aspects of drawing and mark making add richness to the layers in her paintings, characterising her bold and joyful style.
Many people commented on the sense of happiness her works display at her graduation exhibition in February 2026.
Louise Terranova’s Art Journey
She grew up in Adeliade where she studied art at the SA School or Art and Craft and then at the University of South Australia. Whyalla was her home for three years while she taught secondary art. Marriage and family life took her in different directions and she stepped away from creative work some years.
Louise worked in the adult community education sector in Melbourne for eleven years but her decision to change jobs and accept a role in compliance at Northern College of the Arts and Technology (NCAT) in Melbourne, provided a fork in the road.
She used to say she had a dry job in an amazing creative place. During this time, she rekindled her passion for drawing through a sketchbook practice. Then she decided to enroll in the NCAT Create course that she had been watching for ten years. The two-year Diploma course was the best part of her formal art education.
Louise has happily embarked on her emerging artist journey.
